NAC Anaglyph: "Bathtub Ring" of Lava

The pit-like Bawa crater (off-center left) is located on the edge of Lacus Solitudinus. The pit is congested with old lava and spiny, razerback ridges. The ridges are composed of debris that slumped from the upslope (western) wall above Bawa. The old lava flows here formed into a "bathtub ring" morphology, suggesting a "high water mark" where lava once rose and splashed within the low-lying area that makes up Lacus Solitudinus [NASA/GSFC/Arizona State University].

Anaglyph of the western edge of Lacus Solitudinus, a lava-flooded region that includes Bawa and Bowditch craters. The anaglyph is located at 25.42°S, 102.60°E. NAC images M1113495395L/R, M1113488291L/R [NASA/GSFC/Arizona State University].
