Pits Atlas: Copernicus 6a
Impact Melt pit: Copernicus | |
---|---|
Name | Copernicus 6a |
Lat. | 10.1053 |
Long. | 339.995 |
Desc. | Larger and northernmost of a linear pair (triplet?) of pits at the north end of a subtle linear depression (>300m long). This pit is triangular, with the longest side(?) parallel to the line of the pits. Both pits are within a larger linear collapse (pit?) and are only distinguishable as distinct pits at the very highest Sun angles (funnel measurements for both are for the enclosing depression). Copernicus 6a is ~4m NW of Copernicus 6b, and there is another collapse just SE of 6b (although it might just be walls of the surrounding depression). There are no other pits in the immediate vicinity. |
