The LROC NACs are line scanner cameras; they only have one line of pixels, and images are built up line-by-line by the spacecraft motion as it orbits the Moon. Acquiring an image of the Earth requires the spacecraft to rapidly slew to build up the image. This spectacular eclipse image was acquired during a 20-second period starting at 18:59:19 UTC (2:59 pm EDT) on April 8, 2024.
Below is the full NAC image showing the shadow of the Moon: M1467242026L [NASA/GSFC/Arizona State University].
