New NAC Topography Released

New LROC Narrow Angle Camera topographic maps added to the online archive.

The LROC Team released three new Narrow Angle Camera (NAC) stereo-based Digital Terrain Models (DTM) to our archive website bringing the total to 112 DTMs.  The three new DTMs were produced by our colleagues in Germany at the DLR (German equivalent of NASA). The new DTMs cover three regions near the lunar south pole that are considered as potential landing sites for future exploration. The "holes" in the DTM are due to shadows in the image data, always a problem near the poles. Revisit the global LROC Wide Angle Camera (WAC) DTM (GLD100) also produced by the DLR, and released in November of 2011.
